“Scapes” won the 2011 Edward Eakin Manuscript Award, presented by the Poetry Society of Texas. Mike’s poetry has been published in many poetry journals and anthologies such as “Commonweal,” “Louisiana Literature,” “Touchstone,” and “New Texas.” An issue of “Illya’s Honey” containing his poems was nominated for the Pushcart Prize. He won the Violet Newton Poetry Prize, 2000, and his poetry has been featured on the national radio show, “The Romantic Hours.” Baldwin is a longtime member of the Poetry Society of Texas and is a member of Texas’ oldest poetry organization, The Fort Worth Poetry Society. He has been a juried poet of the Houston Poetry Festival and has presented poetry workshops at the Langdon Literary Arts Festival, The Montgomery County Literary Arts Festival, The Austin International Poetry Festival.
