In September of 2020, a team of American astro-physicists detected phosphine in the atmosphere of Venus. Phosphine is primarily produced by bacteria. In fact, Earth’s clouds contain vast amounts of bacteria that produce phosphine too. Knowing that, I wrote a science-fiction story, Venus Rising, for my book, Surpassing Strange, in 2016. The story follows a team of scientists that visit Venus for the first time. They find that, not only does Venus have bacteria in its heavy clouds, those bacteria have formed a planet-wide brain. Surpassing Strange and the other three volumes of the Passing Strange series are available from Amazon, or you can buy a signed copy by emailing me (txdemospoet@gmail.com). If you buy all four books in the Passing Strange series, I’ll email you a PDF of a not yet published sci-fi story. Are Earth’s atmospheric bacteria forming a world brain? That would be more than Surpassing Strange!
