Mike’s poem Leaf Laughter will be included in the 2015 anthology of Mutabilis Press of Houston. Here is the poem:
Leaf Laughter
Elms and oaks and tupelos
unleaving, ungrieving,
undressing tree tresses,
confessing with colors
their seasonal sin.
Leaf laughter comes after
quitting their day jobs.
Dancing while dying,
the leaves keep on trying,
seducing the wind,
their ramble and scramble
and gambol extend.
We without winter
fill five months with Autumn.
For leaves that’s a lifetime
to spend with a friend.
